An architecturally tailored building

A new Country Economics Center (C.E.R.) in Agen (France) was inaugurated last September; an event that was widely reported in the local press.

Thanks to these prestigious new premises, the 60 employees who work for the company now enjoy a more spacious and functional environment. The building for C.E.R., which provides guidance and development assistance to farmers in this region of France, is an essential element in the development plan for Lot-et-Garonne. ASTRON Builder AJ Construction’s well thought-out proposal for the development of the site with two and three-storey buildings, to be supplied on a turnkey basis, plus the very rapid erection of ASTRON Multi-Storey building, met the client’s requirements and won them the contract. AJ Construction has already built four buildings for other C.E.Rs. in France. The simple yet harmonious architecture of this building gives it a stately appearance. The 1.750 m² premises, including an underground car park, are dedicated to office use. The "U" shape was developed to accommodate the company’s administrative workings, internal work and personnel flows, plus the special site situation and technical constraints. Great care has been taken to ensure maximum luminosity throughout the buildings. High quality finishing as well as the choice of flat sandwich wall panels on Alucobond columns, plus a curved parapet on top of the façade, has resulted in an elegant building. 2.000 m² of interior walls, 95 doors, 500 electrical and computer plugs, 20 km of cables, all these elements were necessary to fully fit-out this ASTRON Multi-Storey building. This project, a real success for AJ Construction, is expected to lead to a new order of the same kind for a C.E.R. in another area of France.
